Beta privacy notice
Privacy, in plain language.
This notice describes the current Android and website beta. It will be reviewed and finalized before public release.
Information used for analysis
When you request AI analysis, the description, category, and selected photo or photos are securely sent through the What's Broke Now? analysis service to an AI provider so the requested assessment can be produced. Do not include people, addresses, account numbers, or other private information in repair photos or descriptions.
Information kept on your device
On the website beta, saved repair results and a random installation identifier stay in that browser. The invitation code you enter is used to authorize the request but is not retained after you close or reload the page. The website does not add your photos to saved history. In the Android beta, saved repair records and app preferences are stored locally on the device. Clearing saved repairs removes those records from that browser or device.
Service protection
A randomly generated installation identifier is sent with analysis requests to enforce beta usage limits and protect the service from misuse. It is not your name, email address, or advertising identifier.
What we do not do
The current beta does not require a user account, sell personal information, or use repair photos for advertising. The app and website do not provide emergency monitoring.
Your choices
You may remove saved repairs inside the app or website. Clearing browser data removes the website history; uninstalling the Android app removes its locally stored app data, subject to your device’s backup settings.
Effective August 24, 2026. This privacy notice describes the current limited beta and will be revised when features, service providers, storage practices, or legal requirements change.
